Welcome to KONAN University in KOBE
Konan International Exchange Center (KIEC) has its origins in a successful exchange program established in 1976 initially with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,and then with the Illinois Consortium of Universities which includes the University of Illinois, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Hawaii and the University of Arizona.
In 1990, the program was expanded and enriched. Exchange agreements have been signed with a number of other distinguished universities in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
KIEC offers both one-year Study-abroad Program and summer intensive foreign language courses at our sister universities for which credits are available, and welcomes many foreign students to its Year-in-Japan Program and Intensive Japanese Course here in Kobe.
